Day 1: Texas Last Diet

Today I started my new, and my last, diet.  I am working with Vikki LeBeau at Texas Last Diet, The Woodlands who use a system called Ideal Protein.  It's one of those plans where they provide the food as you start the process, and gradually they train you to shop, cook and eat correctly so that you don't fall back into bad habits, and regain the weight.  I have known Vikki for several months now, having met her at some business networking groups.  Vikki is quite active in those circles, and has the most infectious personality. She is not only always positive and supportive, but she really cares about people.  If you haven't met her yet, you really owe it to yourself to stop by and meet her.

Day one was quite good.  I went shopping, and bought meat and vegetables, and the instructions for the eating plan are quite clear and straightforward.  I was most astonished because it seems like so much food.  I ate it all though, and didn't really feel a lack of anything.  I suspect that part will come later.

So here I am on day one.  I guess I have to have a before shot in here, even though I'm horrified at the picture of me, and I would never go out in public with my shirt tucked in.  The problem is of course that everyone else sees me like this, even though that's not the picture of me I carry in my mind.  Regardless, here's what I look like today, day 1 of the diet.

Wish me luck guys.  I have about 100 pounds to lose, and I'm going to do it this time.  I'm on the borderline with diabetes, I have high cholesterol, issues with my back and my feet, and a horrible self-image.  Why in the world have I waited so long?  I feel really fortunate that I met Vikki LeBeau when I did.  She may well end up saving my life.
