Day 9: Texas Last Diet
Good day today. I had an omelet for breakfast. Lunch was a bit on the run, as we were out doing photo shoots in the hot sun. I took a bag of trail mix along with me, and a salad in tupperware. It was a bit difficult eating the salad in the car, but I did it. (I stopped mind you, I didn't try to eat it while driving.) I forgot the salad dressing though, so it was a bit dry munching on leaves. Water was no problem, because we were out in the sunshine and it was wicket hot today. I may have even gone over my water requirements today, but I figured that wouldn't hurt anything.
I'm feeling some strong cravings for carbs now. I'm not particularly hungry, but I just am not feeling satiated after meals. I just picture crackers in my mind, and dinner rolls at Luby's, and hamburger buns with sesame seeds on them.... It's not insurmountable, but there is a bit of a twinge of sadness that I can't eat those things right now. I just have to get to a point where I have a healthy attitude to such foods, and understand what they do to me. I don't ever want to have to feel again like I did when I was detoxing.
Anyway, dinner was excellent. I browned up some ground turkey breast, and then threw in some liquid aminos (to replace soy sauce) and chopped eggplant, and mushrooms and cooked that until the veggies were tender. Since I didn't have much in the way of vegetables with lunch, I threw in some bell pepper that I had in the fridge too. It was really, really tasty. I was cooking for two, so I threw some feta crumbles on my partner's plate, and he was happy as a clam. That's definitely a dish I'd make again.
I had a bag of nacho chips for my evening snack, but I don't generally go to be very early, and I ended up with a crazy craving late at night. I remember Vikki said that I might have some extras in my bag, so I also had a rice krispy square. That did the trick, but I can't continue to have extra Ideal Protein bags. I'll talk to Vikki and see what she recommends.
Overall, a very good day. I can feel that I'm losing weight... Don't ask me how I know.
