Day 31: Texas Last Diet

We had a complete day of photo shooting today.  I grabbed a mango shake on the way out the door, and a liter bottle of water.  I had a packet of trail mix in the car around noon, and by 1pm we were out searching the neighborhood in Sugarland for something to eat.  We went to one restaurant, but it was so crowded we walked back out.  I looked up, and saw a place with a poster in the window with salad on it.  We walked in, and there was really no one there.  It was middle eastern, Greek, Turkish type food; and all you can eat buffet.  I thought I could at least find some salad, but almost cried when I saw the grilled vegetables... yellow squash, eggplant, peppers, and all of them so completely fresh.  The salad was fresh too, and the tabouli was out of this world.  I threw some grilled chicken on top for my extra protein.  By the time we made it back to our table, people were coming in.  Muslim women in head scarfs, Indian women in saris... this is the place people who have very strict dietary requirements were all coming.  The food was absolutely remarkable. The place is called Dimassi's Mediterranean Kitchen, and after doing a search, it looks like there's another one in The Woodlands.  I have to say, it's my new favorite place.  Sure they have all the rice dishes, and other stuff I can't eat, but it was one of the best meals I've had in ages.  LOVED IT!

I did fried rice
again tonight with the left over cauliflower rice.  This time I threw in turkey instead of pork.  It was really good, and we ate up all the rest of the cauliflower I riced last night.

I had a rice crispy square for snack, and nothing else.  I figured with the chicken at lunch, and the egg in the fried rice dish, I had enough protein for the day.
